My phone has been ringing off the wall since the new stimulus bill was passed! If you are in Austin TX., now is a great time to consider purchasing a home. While the market stays a little uncertain throughout the US, Austin is still in Expansion Mode. I call it, the Slump Factor. A lot of you will understand this when I explain. You feel good about the day, you turn on the news to see what the "World" is up to, then you feel like b/c the rest of the world is having economic market issues, the whole world is, so you SLUMP, and decide that you'll start your day. You talk about the horrible economy (that wasn't so bad until many important people started saying it was, and you decide that you'll wait until it gets really bad to invest). There is something that I call The Trickle Down Effect, that we are seeing in Austin, which I define as is the large corporations, experiencing lay-offs wihch is also causing the Slump Factor (especially if you have been laid off from one of those places). What's my opinion? STOP SLUMPING and START INVESTING if you can!
Well, with Austin, being in the "Expansion Phase" it is a TRICKY DECISION for a lot of you! Buy or Sell? Not a fabulous time to sell if you bought your home between 2006-2008, however, this is all relative to what type of price that you paid for your home.
Definitely a PLUS if you can purchase now, with all-time low interest rates and lower priced homes on the market, with more negotiating opportunity!
